Beyond the classroom

Excursion — 15 June

Students of Maryland Elementary School recently embarked on an educational excursion to a local oil mill. During the tour, students observed the various stages of production, interacted with workers, and gained firsthand knowledge of the importance of agriculture and manufacturing.

The excursion was both informative and exciting, helping students connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.

Academics

Mathematics Quiz Competition — 25 June

The Elementary School recently organised an exciting mathematics competition to promote numerical proficiency and healthy academic competition among pupils. At the end of the competition, outstanding participants were recognised for their excellent performances.

Assessment

Mock Examination — 30 June

Mock examinations were initiated for Grades 5 and 6 as part of preparations for the forthcoming Akwa Ibom State Common Entrance Examination. The exercise provided pupils with an opportunity to test their knowledge, build confidence and familiarise themselves with examination procedures.

Students described the experience as both challenging and rewarding. They appreciated the opportunity to assess their level of preparedness, identify areas for improvement and practise effective time management during examinations.
