Academics: the dual-engine curriculum
Integrating the British Cambridge Framework with the Nigerian NERDC is a strategic response to a modern, borderless economy. In the 21st century a singular educational pathway is often insufficient to prepare a child for the complexities of global leadership. Blending two distinct yet complementary systems creates a high-performance academic environment offering both the cultural groundedness of home and the competitive edge of international standards.
Discipline: the framework of excellence
Discipline at MPIS is not defined by restriction, but by the cultivation of self-governance. True excellence is a by-product of order. Clear expectations and consistent routines help students develop the internal regulation necessary to thrive in high-pressure environments — scaffolding that supports their academic and creative pursuits, and teaches that mastery in any field requires a dedicated and orderly mind.
Pastoral care: nurturing the soul
A robust pastoral care system ensures no child is just a number. Emotional well-being is the prerequisite for academic success. Dedicated mentors and counsellors provide a supportive safety net, navigating the transitions of adolescence with wisdom and compassion. Linked closely to the School of Discipleship, pastoral care involves morning devotions and spiritual guidance, so every child feels seen, heard and valued — and can take intellectual risks knowing they are supported.
Leadership and integrity: building ethical architects
Leadership is a skill that must be architected through practice. Our structure moves beyond theoretical lessons, placing students in positions of responsibility where they must exercise judgement, empathy and strategic influence. Through the Morals and Ethics modules we teach that true leadership is rooted in an unshakeable moral compass, preparing students to be the conscience of the industries they will one day lead.
Physical development: harmonising mind and body
A high-performing mind requires a high-performing vessel. Headlined by the MPIS Football and Basketball Academies and the Lawn Tennis team, this pillar builds physical grit. Sport sits inside the weekly schedule, developing cardiovascular health, motor coordination and resilience — and teaching the value of teamwork, the discipline of practice, and the grace to handle both victory and defeat.
Global relevance: the gateway to the world
Every element of our structure converges here. From the full-stack ICT programme covering coding, app development and cyber security, to intensive preparation for the SAT, IELTS and IGCSE, our students are global-ready. We equip them with the digital fluency, social polish and academic credentials to stand toe to toe with the best in the world.

One curriculum is not enough
The Nigerian NERDC
The bedrock of our academic structure, providing the essential cultural context, national history and local relevance that every student needs. A robust system designed to ensure mastery of foundational subjects while emphasising civic responsibility and national identity.
Without this foundation, a student risks becoming globally able but locally disconnected. The NERDC curriculum ensures our students are fully prepared for national excellence, mastering the standards required for BECE and SSCE, while deeply understanding the socio-economic landscape of the environment they will eventually lead.
The British Cambridge Framework
The global professional landscape demands an inquiry-based mindset. Cambridge is world-renowned for its focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, and the why behind the what. It encourages students to be confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged.
Integrating this international standard moves our students beyond rote learning into deep analytical exploration, and prepares them for IGCSE and Checkpoint — the academic passport needed to enter top-tier universities across the globe.
We integrate these two systems because one is simply not enough to produce a total child. While our students are solving world-class mathematical problems, they are doing so with a firm understanding of their Nigerian roots. The result is a versatile intellectual architecture, producing students who are bilingual in the language of global innovation and local excellence.
